This past weekend was the Bronner Bros hair show in New Orleans and if you were not there, you missed out! Now, I know a lot of people were deterred by the price of a three day pass to this event, which was around $75, but it was totally worth it. They were practically giving away things at this show from free classes, free weaves installations, free hair products and free chance to meet up with celebrities. There were over 300 hundred exhibitors, over 100 classes and up to 10 special events. It was the place to be! Celebrities like Tonya Wright, Marlon Wayans and Bow Wow stoped by for this amazing event. While this was more of an event for hair and makeup stylist, there were many patrons in attendance, learning all about the beauty world. I worked the event at a booth set up for a natural curly hair company called Uncle Funky’s Daughter. We were one of the only booths in attendance that dealt with natural curly hair. This was because the main attraction of the show was focus on wig and weaves. We did draw a bunch of attention from the girls who wanted to transition or were in the middle of transitioning to their natural curly hair from relaxers or heat damage. Also, a lot of girls that had weaves and wigs on did not know what to do with their natural hair, so they came to us for guidance. I did end up posting a picture to Facebook of my naturals curls at the event and a lot of people were commenting about how I got my curls to look so good. I used all Uncle Funky’s Daughter products for the show. Once my hair was washed with their conditioner and shampoo, I went in with Supercurl as a base, then my favorite curl cream, Curly Magic and a few sprays of Glossy to finish it off. To copy my look, get your products at UncleFunkysDaughter.com.

The show was really fun and I met a lot of people during the show. People were handing out business cards left and right. I will definitely be in attendance for the next time the Bronner Bros roll back around to the crescent city and you should too! My advice would be to get your tickets early because the early bird special is way cheaper! For all my naturals girls out there, do me a favor, and go check out Uncle Funky’s Daughter!
